CHUNGDAHM instructors hail from various countries across the globe, but all share a common trait: Passion for Teaching, Compassion for Learners.
While CHUNGDAHM can train instructors on how to deliver the programs and prepare for classes, we cannot teach compassion. Thus, we are committed to hiring qualified instructors who display these traits.
All eligible candidates are required by Korean law to have completed at least a Bachelor's degree with their original diploma in hand. Prior teaching experience or recognized teaching certificates are an asset, but not a requirement.
Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English and have a genuine interest in Korea and its culture. Positions are available throughout the year.
CHUNGDAHM is eager to meet talented and passionate individuals seeking to broaden their horizons. We conduct interviews throughout the year both in Korea and overseas.
To apply, please follow the steps below. Applicants may express their preference regarding job location and departure date, and CHUNGDAHM will do its best to accommodate requests. However, due to internal scheduling and placement demands, CHUNGDAHM cannot always grant instructor preferences.
Due to the large influx of applications, only those who pass the initial screening stage will be contacted.

- Fill out the "domestic" online application form, upload resume, photo and cover letter

- Candidates who successfully pass resume screening will be contacted via phone to inform them of CHUNGDAHM's procedures and operations, and further interview requirements. If and when both parties are in mutual agreement, domestic candidates will be asked to come in for an in-person interview.

- Participate in a presentation, interview, and essay writing sample, which takes about 2 hours.

- E-2 Visa - The E-2 Visa is a work visa designed specifically for English language teachers. While your location at the time of the application for the E-2 stamp is not relevant, the E-2 must be obtained while the applicant is outside of Korea.
- F-4 Visa - The F-4 Visa is a permanent residency visa for those who are of Korean ethnic origin.
- F-2-1 Visa - The F-2-1 Visa is a permanent residency visa for those who are currently married to Korean citizens. To be eligible for an F-2-1 visa, you must register your marriage with a Korean district office.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the instructor to ensure that the proper steps are taken to obtain an appropriate visa, and it is imperative that the documents are sent in a timely fashion. All candidates must arrive into Korea with the E-2, F-4, or F-2-1 visas.

If you need CHUNGDAHM to sponsor you for the E-2 work visa, you must have a passport expiring in no less than one year and send the following documents to our office through a tracking service as soon as possible:
- Signed MOU and contract.
- A valid passport copy of the photo page (Do not send your original passport).
- At least two passport size photos.
- Your original diploma from your undergraduate institution (this will be kept safely for you and will be returned upon arrival to Korea).
- Clean (no record) criminal background check with authenticating APOSTILLE or notarization and certification from Korean Embassy/Consulate (depending on country).
- Sealed original transcripts from your undergraduate institution. Transcripts must have a stamp or seal on the back of the envelope overlapping the flap. You will most likely have to make a special request that your university stamps your transcripts, as most don't do so by default. Transcripts without the stamp or seal are considered invalid by the Korean Immigration Office.
- Signed copies of the "CHUNGDAHM Employment Application" and "Consent Statement" forms.
The CHUNGDAHM Recruiting Center recommends that you use Federal Express or UPS to send your documents and that you email your CHUNGDAHM Hiring Manager the tracking number of the package. In our experience, these couriers are the most reliable and offer the best tracking systems. Do not use your local post office as even if there is a tracking system, packages are not traceable once they leave your country's borders.
Upon receipt of these documents, CHUNGDAHM will apply for your visa from the Korean Immigration Office in the district that you will be working in. It will take up to two full weeks for the Korean Immigration Office to process the application, so plan accordingly. Since visa applications may take more than two weeks, it is important you send in your documents as soon as possible.
Once we receive your visa approval from the immigration office in Seoul, we will email you a confirmation code. You need to take the code, along with your passport, two passport sized photos and an application fee to your nearest Korean Embassy or Consulate and receive the E-2 visa stamp in your passport prior to your arrival.. It will take the Embassy or Consulate up to one more week to finalize your visa.
Call the nearest Korean Embassy or Consulate General for more information including holidays that the office will be closed on (both Korean and local holidays), the length of time required to process your visa once you have the confirmation code as well as the exact amount of the fee that you must pay. The fee is typically the equivalent of 60,000 won, but this does fluctuate.

If you are female, or if you are male and your name is not on the Korean Family Registry, you will need the following :
- Proof that your name is not on the Korean Family Registry
- Proof that your parent (s) naturalized from Korea to the country of your citizenship
(Naturalization papers)
- Your birth certificate and/or Naturalization Papers Registry
If you are male and your name is on the Korean Family Registry:
- We recommend that you do not apply for the F-4 visa. Although there are often exceptions in Korean immigration law, if your name is on the Korean Family Registry , there is a possibility that the Korean government will draft you into the 2 year National Military Service that all male Korean citizens are required to serve before you receive the visa.
Refer to the requirements for an E-2 visa instead
If you were born in Korea and adopted by citizens of a different country:
- You will need your birth certificate and adoption papers
Call the nearest Korean Embassy or Consulate General to discuss your application immediately and inquire about the requirements and application for an F-4 Visa. The information in this packet is accurate at the time of writing, but immigration laws for F-4 visas change often, and there are a number of exceptions. Also, requirements for F-4 visas vary based on which embassy or consulate you apply to.
